Actin filament-associated protein 1-like 2 (AFAP1L, also known as XB130) belongs to the actin-filament associated protein (AFAP) family of adaptor proteins (including AFAP1, AFAP1L1, and AFAP1L2/XB130). XB130 is an adaptor protein for signal transduction predominantly localised in the cytoplasm, and regulates cell proliferation, survival, and gene expression []. It is a Src kinase substrate []and couples the RET/PTC oncogenic kinase to the PI 3-kinase pathway []. It is involved in growth and survival of different cancer cells [].
