Coronins belongs to the WD40-repeat family, which contains the WD40 motifs that act as the protein-protein interaction sites. There are several isoforms of Coronin in mammalian cells []. This entry represents Coronin 1C (also knowns Coronin 3). Coronin 1C contains two actin-binding sites that bind to actin filaments []. It may be involved in cytokinesis, motility, and signal transduction. Expression of Coronin 1C has been linked to tumour malignancy in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and glioblastoma cells [, ].
