Neurensin-2 is a homologue of neurensin-1 and localises in small vesicles in neural cells []. Although Neurensin-1 and Neurensin-2 show a similar distribution in the central nervous system, they differ in their intracellular localisation. Neurensin-1 is mostly found in neuritic processes, while Neurensin-2 is found in cell bodies [].
