Rhotekin is a downstream effector forRho small GTPase []. It is highly expressed in the brain, lung, kidney, muscle, and gastric cancer cells [, ]. Overexpression of rhotekin activates NF-kappa-B and leads to increased survival in gastric adenocarcinoma []. Rhotekin regulates the organisation of the mammalian septin structures, which are heteropolymerised filaments involved in various cellular events such as cytokinesis, apoptosis, vesicular transport and cell polarity []. Rhotekin also plays an important role in the differentiation of neural stem cells (NSCs) into neurons [].
