Description: Nucling, also known as uveal autoantigen with coiled-coil domains and ankyrin repeats (UACA), is a proapoptotic protein that regulates the apoptosome and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappaB) signalling pathways []. It was first identified in murine embryonal carcinoma cells []. It is associated with the apoptosome pathway by inducing translocation of Apaf-1 from the cytoplasm into the nucleus following cytotoxic stress []. It also mediates apoptosis by inhibiting expression of galectin-3 [].
