Search our database by keyword

Examples

  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, diseases, strains, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. Pax6, Parkinson, ataxia)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. OR mus) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. Balb* for partial matches or mus AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

Protein Domain
Type: Domain
Description: PHLDB1, -2, and -3 (or LL5alpha, -beta, and -gamma) belong to the LL5 protein family. They contain a C-terminal PH domain. PHLDB3 is shorter and has no similarities with PHLDB1 and PHLDB2 in other regions, including the CLASP-binding region []. PHLDB2 is a key component of the synaptic podosomes that play an important role in in postsynaptic maturation. It has been shown to bind to PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 and to the cytoskeletal adaptor gamma-filamin []. PHLDB2 attaches EB1/CLIP-associating protein (CLASP)-bound microtubule plus ends to the cell cortex []. It is essential for quick Filamin A-dependent SHIP2 translocation in response to membrane PtdIns(3,4,5)P3, and hence plays an important role in efficient lamellipodium formation [].This entry represents the PH domain of PHLDB1/2/3.
