| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: A new recessive neurological mutation arising in a subline of C57BL/10 results in spontaneous seizures and eventually death, presumably during seizure (provisional name Drop dead - dd). Spontaneous seizures first appear during adolescence and death may ensue within several days, or in rare cases, as much as six months later. Prior to the onset of seizure susceptibility the mutant becomes hypersensitive to tactile stimuli. Those homozygotes which survive to sexual maturity are poor breeders and exhibit very poor maternal care. |
