Protein Coding Gene : Kansl3 KAT8 regulatory NSL complex subunit 3

Primary Identifier  MGI:1918055 Organism  mouse, laboratory
Chromosome  1 NCBI Gene Number  226976
Mgi Type  protein coding gene
description  FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0)

Predicted to be involved in positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II and regulation of mitochondrial transcription. Part of NSL complex. Is expressed in 1-cell stage embryo; 2-cell stage embryo; 8-cell stage embryo; blastocyst; and brain. Orthologous to human KANSL3 (KAT8 regulatory NSL complex subunit 3).
PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele fail to hatch out of the zona pelucida both in vivo and in vitro, and show implantation failure and lineage-specific defects at the blastocyst stage with significantly reduced inner cell mass, epiblast, and primitive endoderm cell numbers, leading to peri-implantation lethality.
