| molecularNote | A 141 bp cDNA fragment of the mouse Itgb1 gene encoding for the entire cytoplasmic tail including the stop codon was inserted in frame into exon 15 and a floxed neo-tk cassette was inserted into intron 15 via homologous recombination. Cre mediated recombination then removed the neo-tk cassette leaving a single loxP site in intron 15. Analysis indicated that the mutant mRNA undergoes nonsense mediated decay. |
