| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: g. Linkage of chocolate (cht) to Chr 7. We have located the recessive coat color mutation chocolate (cht, first described MNL 71:80) on Chr 7 distal to Gpi-1. A three- point backcross with data from male and female Fls combined gives the following data: Gpi-1 Ð cht; 48/142; 33.8 +/- 4.0 cht Ð Hbb; 11/142; 7.7 +/- 2.2 Gpi-1 Ð Hbb; 49/142; 34.3 +/- 4.0 These data do not allow us to determine the order with certainty but suggest that cht is between Gpi-1 and Hbb. A second preliminary cross, in which multiple coat colors were segregating, suggests close linkage with pink-eyed dilution. This also would locate cht between Gpi-1 and Hbb.
