abstractText | In this study, the role of intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1) in the pathogenesis of Pseudomonas aeruginosa keratitis was examined by using inbred ICAM-1-deficient knockout mice. These mice had significantly less (P </= 0.02) ocular disease than wild-type mice, suggesting that ICAM-1 contributes to a more severe disease response following P. aeruginosa infection. |
