| abstractText | The gene encoding the major outer membrane protein of the Chlamydia trachomatis mouse pneumonitis biovar was sequenced and the amino acid sequence deduced. The primary structure of this protein is similar to that of the lymphogranuloma venereum and trachoma biovars in that it consists of four variable domains interspersed with five constant domains. This protein may be an ideal candidate for a vaccine in chlamydia-infected mouse experimental models. |
