An extracellular complex that binds lipoprotein receptors VLDLR and APOER2, cadherin-related neuronal receptors (CNRs) or alpha3beta1 integrin and induces various downstream, reelin-dependent, phosphorylation cascades. It ultimately affects polarization, differentiation, neuronal migration and layer formation in the embryonic brain and neuron growth, maturation, and synaptic activity in the postnatal and adult brain.
