Allele : Edar<Tg(OVE1B)Ove> ectodysplasin-A receptor; transgene insertion OVE1B, Paul Overbeek

Primary Identifier  MGI:1857813 Allele Type  Transgenic
Gene  Edar Inheritance Mode  Recessive
Strain of Origin  (C57BL/6 x C3H)F2 Is Recombinase  false
Is Wild Type  false
description  Similar phenotypes have also been described in mice for the Tabby allelic series at the Eda locus.
molecularNote  A transgene containing a hybrid DNA construct, which includes the regulatory sequences of the mouse alpha-crystallin gene and the early region of SV40, inserted into the gene. A founder mouse from one microinjection event produced offspring carrying two different integration sites. The subsequent lines were called EdarTgN(OVE1A)Ove and EdarTgN(OVE1B)Ove. In both cases, integration was accompanied by a genomic deletion and an intrachromosomal inversion. The deletions were found to be overlapping. This allele is defined by a noncomplementation test with Edardl, and contains a 600 kb deletion.
