Type  MGI:General Description  in a cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) model of acute septic peritonitis, homozygotes exhibit enhanced survival relative to wild-type controls at 36 hrs (85% vs 65%), 48 hrs (75% vs 52%) and 10 days (58% vs 12%) post-CLP at 48 hrs post-CLP, 14 of 18 homozygotes vs only 3 of 13 wild-type mice are scored as being "well" based on established criteria reconstitution of homozygotes with human MBL results in partial reversion of the enhanced survival phenotype
