abstractText  HIPK2 (homeodomain-interacting protein kinase 2) is a CD95 binding partner in yeast. Its primary amino acid sequence is highly conserved between human and mouse. The highest HIPK2 mRNA expression is found in neuronal tissue. The HIPK2 gene is located on human chromosome 7q33-35 and the protein is mainly localized in the nucleus. HIPK2 has been described to play a role as a co-repressor for homeodomain transcription factors.
