abstractText  The genes encoding the alpha 1 and beta subunits of voltage-sensitive calcium channel were mapped in the mouse by analysis of the progeny of two multilocus crosses. The alpha 1, beta 2, and beta 4 subunit genes, termed Cchna1, Cchb2, and Cchb4, are located at different sites on proximal Chr 2, while the beta 3 subunit gene Cchb3 maps to Chr 15 near Wnt1. These results together with previous mapping data indicate that the calcium channel genes are dispersed in the mouse genome, unlike the sodium channel genes, which are clustered.
