A new lethal neurological mutation that arose in a deH-op linkage cross in 1977 has been located on Chr 9 close to ducky but is not allelic to du. A repulsion IC with scant hair (sch) gives an RF of 20% (N=299) and a coupling IC gives an RF of 9.3% (N=167). The combined RF is 12.0+3.1%. Homozygous tippy mice are small, hyperactive, cannot stand or walk without falling over and die by 20-25 days of age. (Lane) |
