Protein Coding Gene : Pole4 polymerase (DNA-directed), epsilon 4 (p12 subunit)

Primary Identifier  MGI:1914229 Organism  mouse, laboratory
Chromosome  6 NCBI Gene Number  66979
Mgi Type  protein coding gene
description  FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 7.0.0)

Predicted to enable DNA binding activity and protein heterodimerization activity. Predicted to be involved in DNA-templated DNA replication. Predicted to be part of ATAC complex and epsilon DNA polymerase complex. Predicted to be active in nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; early conceptus; genitourinary system; and integumental system. Orthologous to human POLE4 (DNA polymerase epsilon 4, accessory subunit).
PHENOTYPE: Homozygous inactivation of this gene causes embryonic lethality and extensive developmental defects in inbred strains. In an outbred background, viable homozygotes show growth, craniofacial and skeletal anomalies, subfertility, defective B and T cell maturation, leukopenia, and tumor predisposition.
