abstractText  The amyloid precursor protein (APP) is a member of a family of proteins found in the central nervous system with a fundamental role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. This review describes the experimental evidence that has provided functional insights into this protein and emphasizes the importance of APP in many neurobiological processes.
