molecularNote  An FRT-flanked PGK-neomycin selection cassette and loxP site were inserted upstream of exon 3 and a second loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 3. The PGK-neomycin selection cassette was removed via flp-mediated recombination. Exon 3 was removed via cre-mediated recombination and generated a stop codon TGG due to splicing of exon 2 with exon 4, causing premature termination.
