Acts upstream of or within cellular response to leukemia inhibitory factor. Located in cytosol and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system gland; and liver and biliary system. Orthologous to human GSTT2 (glutathione S-transferase theta 2 (gene/pseudogene)) and GSTT2B (glutathione S-transferase theta 2B). PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a disruption in this gene display a normal phenotype. Dendritic cells from homozygous null mice produce more IL10 and IL12p70 indicating more activated immune cells and show a more robust inflammatory response to Mycobacterium bovis Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) immunotherapy.
