Primary Identifier | MGI:106188 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 10 | NCBI Gene Number | 14872 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Predicted to enable glutathione peroxidase activity and glutathione transferase activity. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to leukemia inhibitory factor. Located in cytosol and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system gland; and liver and biliary system. Orthologous to human GSTT2 (glutathione S-transferase theta 2 (gene/pseudogene)) and GSTT2B (glutathione S-transferase theta 2B). PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a disruption in this gene display a normal phenotype. Dendritic cells from homozygous null mice produce more IL10 and IL12p70 indicating more activated immune cells and show a more robust inflammatory response to Mycobacterium bovis Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) immunotherapy.
