description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables O-fucosylpeptide 3-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase activity. Involved in marginal zone B cell differentiation and regulation of Notch signaling pathway. Acts upstream of or within blastocyst formation and positive regulation of Notch signaling pathway. Predicted to be located in Golgi membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; genitourinary system; limb; nervous system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human MFNG (MFNG O-fucosylpeptide 3-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase). PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a null mutation exhibit normal pancreatic development, morphology and physiology. Mice homozygous for a different knock-out allele exhibit altered lymphocyte numbers, abnormal circulating factors II, VII, IX and XI, and decreased prothrombin and partial thromboplastin time.
