PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit failure of blastocyst formation and complete embryonic lethality before implantation. In vitro, embryos fail to hatch from the zona pellucida and show no further development after 3 days in culture. [provided by MGI curators]
