Located in nuclear envelope and ooplasm. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; early conceptus; genitourinary system; and hemolymphoid system gland. Orthologous to human FAF1 (Fas associated factor 1).
PHENOTYPE: Homozygous fail to develop beyond 2-cell stage. Mice homozygous for a hypomorphic gene trap allele exhibit decreased susceptibility to dopaminergic neuron neurotoxicity. [provided by MGI curators]
