Primary Identifier | MGI:1923416 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 4 | NCBI Gene Number | 76166 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables GTP binding activity and GTPase activity. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including axoneme assembly; endocardial cushion fusion; and regulation of smoothened signaling pathway. Located in centriole and ciliary transition zone. Is active in ciliary base. Used to study VACTERL association and visceral heterotaxy. Orthologous to human CPLANE2 (ciliogenesis and planar polarity effector complex subunit 2). PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for ENU-induced mutations exhibit cardiovascular defects including persistent truncus arteriosus and atrioventricular septal defects, as well as polydactyly and micrognathia. Eye defects, hypoplastic lungs and thymus, and tracheoesophageal anomalies may be also present. [provided by MGI curators] |
