Primary Identifier | MGI:1270861 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 6 | NCBI Gene Number | 16162 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables protein kinase binding activity. Acts upstream of or within peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; response to cytokine; and response to lipopolysaccharide. Located in external side of plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including brain ventricular layer; genitourinary system; incisor; olfactory epithelium; and submandibular gland. Orthologous to human IL12RB2 (interleukin 12 receptor subunit beta 2). PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele have defects in IFN-gamma production and cytotoxic T lymphocyte and NK cytotoxicity, develop an autoimmune/lymphoproliferative disorder associated with higher susceptibility to spontaneous tumor formation, but show reduced in vivo growth of B16 melanoma tumors.
