Primary Identifier | MGI:95938 | Organism | mouse, laboratory |
Chromosome | 17 | NCBI Gene Number | 110558 |
Mgi Type | protein coding gene |
description | FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 8.0.0) Enables peptide antigen binding activity. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including defense response to symbiont; positive regulation of T cell mediated cytotoxicity; and positive regulation of type II interferon production. Located in external side of plasma membrane. Part of MHC class Ib protein complex. Is expressed in early conceptus; inner cell mass; and spleen. PHENOTYPE: This locus controls a lymphocyte antigen on T- and B-cells of spleen, lymph nodes and bone marrow, but not thymus. Antigen is present (a allele) in C57BL/6, C57BL/10, C57L and 129/J; other strains tested are negative (b allele). Expression level is affected by alleles carried at B2m and H2-D1 loci.
