abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 4. New mutants. (i) Ichthyosis. Single recessive, ic, with full penetrance. Not alleloomorphic with hr; not yet tested against other coat mutants. Recognisable at 6 days; coat, including first coat, reduced to thin down or less. The skin may become scaly and slough off at about the age of weaning, especially from neck, shoulders, rump, tail and feet; the distal part of the tail may become necrotic. Adults remain small and may be mute. Some males are cryptorchid and sterile, a minority of females can bear and suckle litters. Arose by spontaneous mutation in a sib-mated stock homozygous for aa bb btbt CaCa c<ch>c<ch> dd sese. |
