abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage data: Gs - Mobr. In the course of several studies involving these mutants, we have derived what could be considered "most reliable" estimates of the Gs - Mo recombination frequency. This estimate can be biased by classification difficulties and non-random early mortality. In the particular outcrosses involved, Gs and Mobr are in repulsion. The reliable data from daughters use the + Mobr/++ and Gs Mobr/++ progeny and give a recombination frequency of 4.7 +/- 0.5% in 1665 offspring. For the males, the Gs/Y and +/Y progeny are most reliable. The recombination is 4.8 +/- 0.5% in 1756 offspring. The totals: 162 recombinants in 3421 progeny; 4.74 +/- 0.36%. It should be noted that the value can be as low as 2.5% without due regard for differential mortality and classification errors. Mobr-Blo. We have completed this allelic test (see MNL 44) and have observed no recombinants in 1222 classified offspring. This gives an upper limit (P=.05) of 0.5% for the recombination. |
