| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research Note: The name p-unstable, symbol pun, is proposed for the unstable allele of pink-eyed dilution, first reported in Proc. XI Int. Congr. Genet. (Wolfe, 1963). It has been unofficially referred to as p' or pm. The new gene symbol will distinguish it from pm1 and pm2 (L.B. Russell, 1964, in The Role of Chromosomes in Development). The latter two alleles produce mottling as does pun, but apparently by some mechanism that does not involve high frequency of reversion to wild type. (Wolfe). |
