abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: 4. p-sterile alleles. Spermiogenesis, pds/pds mice produce abnormal sperm, but of a type distinguishable from those seen in p25H/p25H, pds/p25H produce a mixture of the two abnormal types. p25H/p11H, p25H/pd, p25H/p, pds/p11H, pds/pd, pds/p and p11H/p11H have normal spermiogenesis. Endocrine system. There are extensive lesions of the pars nervosa and median eminence in p25H/p25H. The pituitary gland is reduced in size and changes are also seen in the adrenals (reduced cortex) and pancreas (enlarged, with reduced blood sugar levels). Experiments on the endocrinological basis of the p-sterile syndrome are in hand. (D.R. Johnson and D.M. Hunt). |
