abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Two mutations have arisen spontaneously in our outbred CF I stock. The first is a dominant wavy coat similar to descriptions of carcul or rex, but seems to remain more visible in adult males than reported for these. Linkage tests with bt are in preparation. The second is sex linked on chromosome XX and was first seen in completely bald males from two consecutive litters of a single female in our general production unit. Outcrosses proved it to be semidominant in heterozygotic females where the expression is evident bald patches with varying distribution. Naked animals of both sexes are fully viable and fertile. From backcrosses, bald animals of either sex are about one third the weight of wild type and heterozygotes. The mutant has been named harlequin (Hq). |
