| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkages and Chromosomes: 4. Chromosome 14. Evidence from repulsion intercrosses between gunmetal (gm) and piebald (s) collected by M.M. Dickie and E.M. Eicher indicated that gm might be in Ch 14. Several different backcrosses with the following kinds of heterozygotes, gm + +/+ Wc Rn, Wc + + +/+ hr s Rn, Wc + +/+ hr s, s +/+ slt, and + + Rn/s slt +, have shown that the order of these loci in Ch 14, and the approximate recombination fractions are (Wc gm) 11 hr 13 s 5 slt 3 Rn. No recombinants between Wc and gm have been observed in 28 offspring. (M.C. Green) |
