abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution. b. Abnormal feet and tail (Aft). A new dominant mutation that produces syndactyly of digits 3 and 4 in the hind feet and a kinky tail arose in 129/Sv-ch/ch-W54J. The penetrance of Aft is poor, about 50%, and the gene is located on Chr 9. In a coupling BC with se 196 offspring were produced; 31 Aft +, 6 Aft se, 41 + + and 118 + se. Recombination calculated according to the method of Bailey (Heredity 4:324) have been produced; 21 Aft +, 17 Aft sch, 38 + + and 63 + sch giving a recombination estimate of 37 +/- 6.6%. This suggests that Aft is on the centromere side of se but a three point cross is now in progress. (Lane) |
