abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: M.M. Dickie. New mutations: 1. Buff. Two light colored (khaki color) mice were observed in a litter of C57BL/6J born in August, 1962. Although the buff coated animals do not resemble closely any of the known diluting genes in the mouse, tests for allelism have been undertaken. The following are all negative: d, p, b, ln, ru, pa, si, ce, pe, bg, m, le, ep, tp, under-white and gunmetal. Black buff animal (bfbf BB) appear somewhat similar to mm bb. Eye color does not appear to be affected. Breeding tests indicate that this is a recessive mutation. This mutation is called buff, and suggested symbol is bf. |
