abstractText | Full text of Mouse Genome contribution: 2. Sandy (sdy). A new recessive color mutation that arose in DBA/2J in 1983 has been located on Chromosome 13. Homozygous sdy/sdy mice have pink eyes and a coat color that resembles pallid. Data from a three point backcross with cr and XtJ show the most likely order is cr - XtJ - sdy. Sandy is not allelic with muted. A C57BL/6J-sdy stock, homozygous wild type at the brown and dilute loci, has been established. Collaborative work with Dr. R.T. Swank, Roswell Park, has shown that sdy/sdy mice have a prolonged bleeding time. Further work is in progress. (Sweet) |
