abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: The morphology and genetics of a non-haired mutant stock of mice were published recently in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology (56: 170, 1971). The original mutant mice, obtained from the Charles River Breeding Laboratories, were dubbed "cr-hairless" and provisionally symbolized crh. These mutant mice are being used extensively in our laboratory in photobiologic and skin carcinogenic studies. To avoid propagating a name containing "hairless", which could be confused easily with the hr (hairless) allele, the mutant mice will be named "cryptothrix" (hidden hair). The provisional gene symbol crh will remain unchanged (Mann). |
