| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 2. Hypochondroplasia (hcp). A non-proportional dwarfism which appeared in the Rb(6:13)1H stocks. It proved to be due to a fully penetrant, recessive mutation. Neither sex breeds though the males have fairly normal looking testes. The head is fairly normal in size, the rest of the body very much reduced especially in length. Radiographically there appear to be no signs of ossification of the epiphyses of the long bones, which though short, look otherwise fairly normal. The costo-chondral junctions of the ribs are "splayed". It is provisionally being called hcp but has not been tested for allelism as yet with the cho and cn; "allelism" tests with cn are underway by testing for linkage with b (Chr. 4).
