abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: 1. Autosomal Recessive Mutation for Cataracts and Male Sterility. A new recessive cataract mutation first appeared in a CD-1 (random-bred) litter. Homozygous males are fully sterile, with testes having fewer germ cells, some multi-nucleated. Homozygotes of both sexes display cataracts at one month of age. Heterozygotes are normal. Complementation studies suggest that the cataract mutation is allelic with the cataract mutation described by Kador et al. (Exp. Eye Res. 30: 59-68, 1980). We suggest catAA (cataract, Ann Arbor) as a provisional gene symbol. We wish to share this strain with others. (Magon and Erickson) |
