abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutants and Linkages: 1. Tight skin (Tsk). This dominant mutation was discovered by Mrs. Helen Bunker in the B10.D2(58N) congenic resistant strain in July 1967. Tsk/+ mice look normal up to about 2 months of age but can be recognized by a tightness of the skin felt when grasping a mouse by the scruff of the neck. Mutants can be recognized by about 2 weeks of age and possibly earlier. Older animals develop a pronounced hump in the shoulder region. Histological sections of the skin and viscera indicate that there is probably a generalized hyperplasia of loose connective tissue. The phenotype of Tsk/Tsk mice is not yet known. Tsk is linked to a in Ch 2 with about 16% recombination, in the order Tsk, a, Ra. (M.C. Green, H.0. Sweet) |
