| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Linkage data. 1. Close linkage between Li and Hyp. Previous tests with Blo and Hq have indicated that the sex-linked lethal Li lies distally on the X (MNL 70: 80-81 ). Evidence of close linkage with Hyp, one of the most distal markers, has now been obtained. Crosses of Li+/+Hyp females with ++/Y males have produced 159 Li/+ females, 176 Hyp/+ females, 189 Hyp/Y males, 0 Li Hypp/++ females, 1 +/+ female and 3 +/Y males. Because of the non-random X expression caused by Li, Hyp was not expected t o be classifiable in Li Hyp/++ females. If linkage is calculated on the basis of males only t h e R.F. is 1.56 +/- 0.90.
