| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutants: 3. C3H/Gn-a4J/a4J (F8). Mice bearing a spontaneous mutation to a (a4J) that occurred in the C3H/HeJ strain in 1970 were crossed to C3HeB/FeJ and the descendants subsequently sib mated. The strain is useful for producing a/a F1 hybrids with C57BL/6J. Deleterious mutants can be maintained on this background and their ovaries can, if necessary, be transplanted to (C57BL/6J-AW-J x C3H/Gn) F1 hybrids with the AW-J/A alleles serving as coat color markers for the host germ cells.
