abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: M.C. Green. New mutation: Hammer-Toe, Hm. This mutation was found in a linkage cross in which lu was segregating and the feet were consequently being carefully examined. Homozygotes are viable and fertile and not consistently more abnormal than heterozygotes. An intercross gave 80 Hm- and 24 ++. Both homozygotes and heterozygotes are characterized by feet in which the second phalanx of digits 2, 3, 4, and 5 is strongly flexed. All four feet are affected and there is no evidence of normal overlapping. A coupling backcross in the Wv gave 23 recombinants in 131 offspring, indicating linkage with 17.6% recombination. |
