molecularNote  A Pdgfa cDNA was inserted between a SacI site and a KpnI site in the 5'UTR of the Myf5 gene. An adjacent loxP-flanked neomycin cassette was removed via Cre mediated recombination in this allele. Alteration in the expression pattern of Pdgfa was noted in homozygous mutant embryos as assayed by in situ hybridization.
