abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New Mutations: LDH: In screening F1 progeny of the above described experiment, a second mobility variant of LDH was identified. This mutation appears to affect the structural gene for the A subunit of LDH.** Again, as was the case with the Es-1 spontaneous mutation, this mutation was also spontaneous and appeared in 6 out of ten progeny from the parental cross. Testing of progeny derived from crosses of the mutant heterozygotes back to DBA/2J and C57BL/6J animals have shown that this mutation is heritable. Crosses designed to determine the linkage of LDH-A and to determine the homozygous viability of this mutant are underway.
