In addition, a polyadenylation signal and peripherin 1 genomic sequence encompassing a portion of exon 1 through a portion of exon 3 was included downstream of cre. Transgenic expression was demonstrated in the dorsal root and trigeminal ganglia, the olfactory epithelium, and brainstem nuclei at E13.
