| molecularNote | This hepatocyte-specific transgene consists of the mouse Alb1 enhancer and proximal promoter and 1.5 kb of a modified porcine TGFB1 cDNA. Cysteines 223 and 225 were substituted with serine residues. A 625 bp sequence of the human growth hormone gene 3' untranslated region and polyadenylation sequence was also added. Transgene expression in the liver of transgenic animals was confirmed by Northern blot analysis. Transgenic lines 2, 18, 34, and 25 express high levels of the transgene. |
