molecularNote  The transgene consists of a mouse opsin promoter fused to a mouse Rgs9 cDNA. 4 kb of mouse opsin promoter sequence was used to drive transgene expression in the photoreceptors. Elevation of mRNA levels by transgene expression in retinal photoreceptors did not increase RGS9 protein level in the retina.
