| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research news: New mutations. 1. Platino, proposed symbol, pl, is a colour mutant which appeared in the C57BL/10-H2d IR strain. Its phenotype is near white with dark eyes. The description given to the coat of the ce allele of the albino series can be applied very accurately to platino. In crosses it behaves as a straight recessive with full penetrance and viability. In spite of its resemblance to ce it does not belong to the albino series. Tests are under way to determine its transplantation behaviour in the original blacks. If no interference is found, the pair black-platino will be most useful for transplantation studies. (O.
